Harriet Heath Publishes How-to Guide to Create Process for Nurturing Children

How do we make our dreams for our children a reality? That’s the question Harriet Heath, Ph. D., poses—and answers—in her new book, “Plan: How to Get Where You Want to Go in Nurturing Your Children” (Parenting Press, www.parentingpress.com, $9.95).

A Haverford PA resident and the director emeritus of Bryn Mawr College’s Parent Center, Dr. Heath helps parents evaluate their relationship with their children, reflect on the beliefs and values that influence their thinking and consider how needs affect behavior, especially the behavior of children. She also covers emotions, and how parents want their children to handle emotions, and how to recognize each child’s individual characteristics, including learning styles and temperament. Her book provides step-by-step guidance and worksheets for developing a parenting process.
