PRESS RELEASE
Sleep, Self-nurturing, Oral Histories
Featured in Free Newsletter
How much sleep babies need, how mothers (and fathers) can nurture themselves, and how to create oral histories are among the topics in the May 2009 issue of the Parenting Press monthly, “News for Parents,” available at www.parentingpress.com/ezine.html.
The June issue, available to members of the media starting May 26, will include such stories as “Make Cussin’ Count,” “So Sexy So Soon,” “Learning Disorders Demystified” and “Transform Trash into Summer Crafts.”
Articles in “News for Parents” can be reprinted or excerpted from in your newsletter or on your web site as long as Parenting Press is credited and the “News for Parents” URL appears.
Another story is “Making Memories with Fashion,” which uses a Legacy Project (www.legacyproject.org) activity for connecting kids with the older people in our lives by asking stories about vintage apparel. The “Fashion Then & Now Fill-in” provides prompts for asking grandparents, elderly neighbors and others what they wore and whether they bought or made their clothes. Another Legacy Project describes how to use a photo of an old family home for an unusual Mother’s or Father’s Day card.
Toilet training the child with special needs is a parenting tip written by Shari Steelsmith, based on Helen F. Neville’s newly published update of Parenting Press’s popular Mommy! I Have to Go Potty!.
