An 8-year-old Onalaska girl, Lorin Flint, took top honors in the recent Fish Lips Face photo contest at the Centralia branch of the Timberland Regional Library in western Washington and 16-month-old Rachel Russell was the winner at the nearby Chehalis branch. Both girls received autographed copies of Janan Cain’s The Way I Feel for their skill in imitating the face on the front of Mrs. Cain’s best-selling book.

Visitors to the Salem, IL Bryan-Bennett Library got to vote for their favorite “Fish Lips Face” and the winner is—drum roll, please!—Saegan Phillips, who attends Hawthorn Elementary. She received a copy of The Way I Feel autographed by author/illustrator Janan Cain, whose own daughter modeled for the “fish lips face” on the cover of the book.
Four-year-old Preston Hart, son of Stephen and Michelle Hart, took top honors at the Fish Lips Face photo contest in at DeKalb’s Barnes & Noble earlier this summer. He received his prize, an autographed copy of The Way I Feel, from author Janan Cain.
West Nyack, NY
Five-year-old Joseph Miele of Hohokus, NJ, took top honors as the “fishiest” face when the West Nyack, NY Barnes & Noble wrapped up its “Fish Lips Face” photo contest.
Kathryn Clark, who attends Woodland Heights Elementary School in Spartanburg, S.C., made the best Fish Lips Face at the Spartanburg Barnes & Noble during its recent Fish Lips Face photo contest. This 9-year-old received an autographed copy of Janan Cain's The Way I Feel as her prize. Congratulations, Kathryn!
Erika Wilson, who attends Robert Lince Elementary School in Selah, Wash., won the “Fish Lips Face” photo contest held between March 10 and April 10 at the Pied Piper in Yakima, Wash. Her prize is a copy of The Way I Feel autographed by author/illustrator Janan Cain. Congratulations, Erika!
Six-year-old Priyanka, a student at Wilkes-Barre Academy, is the grand prize winner of the Wilkes-Barre Barnes & Noble store's Fish Lips contest. Besides receiving an autographed copy of The Way I Feel, she was filmed by the news crew from WNEP-16, which aired its “Fish Lips” footage several times.
Who makes the best fish lips face in Olean, NY? Afua Kwakye-Berko, that's who! When the Olean Public Library sponsored its Fish Lips Face photo contest, the winner was Afua, a student at Southern Tier Catholic School. She received a copy of Janan Cain’s The Way I Feel for the best imitation of the face on the cover.
